That's the sound of the drop that solidifies our 12th release on Affectionate Grooves , with an epic revisit of Kachina and Nikki Marie's 2016 club hit, ‘A Girl Like Me,’ featuring a stunning set of remixes courtesy of deep and soulful house legends, Miguel Migs and Osunlade, along with UKG/bassline pioneer, DJ Q.
Miguel Migs and his label Salted Music is globally renowned for his stylish deep house productions, and he doesn’t disappoint us with a full vocal and dub remix, overflowing with warm grooves and infectious beats.
Since launching Yoruba Records in 1999, Osunlade is one of the most in-demand house DJ and producers on the planet. His love of soulful sounds brings Nikki Marie’s sublime vocal to the fore in a stripped back, percussive mix, alongside an instrumental version and 'beats' mix, which provides a useful DJ tool.
DJ Q continues to go from strength to strength as part of bass and garage trio, TQD, with Royal T and Flava D. His influence as a UK Garage and Bassline pioneer is indisputable and he steps up to deliver a firing mix full of bouncing beats and wobbling basslines along with an instrumental version to complete a killer remix package.
So far this release has received major support across radio and clubs from the likes of respected DJ's such as Pete Tong, Danny Tenaglia, Fish Go Deep, Mr. V, Benji B, and Satoshi Fumi .
With this release Affectionate Grooves and Kachina deliver a statement of intent after the untimely passing of Zurcon (R.I.P), Kachina's long time MC and recent third member of the group.
